Long Distance Van Driver

Acris provides services from warehousing & logistics to waste management & commercial products. We require a driver who has previous experience driving long wheelbase commercial vehicles long distance. This is a physically demanding role and applicants will be required to lift heavy and irregular sized objects - loading and unloading vehicles with early starts Mon-Fri. Training, Van, Insurance, fuel and Uniform provided. Daily tasks include: Collecting surplus stock both loose and palletised including electronics, food stuffs, toys etc.Following assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely collectionsLoading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of itemsMaintaining accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and signaturesLiaising with both customers and office based colleaguesKey Qualities: Be able to work to deadlines and have the ability to think on your feetProven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving roleGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenAble to navigate using GPS or maps to locate addresses and optimize delivery routesStrong physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting, as neededSafe, responsible driving habitsAble to start earlyNavigate effectively around busy city centres*Please note you may be required to stay overnight on certain long distance routes (accomodation paid for). *Please also note this is not multi-drop driving - you will typically have 6-8 destinations per day.
