Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a full-time Security Officer on a Monday to Friday working pattern for a period of 12 months. The role of Security Officer is responsible to the Security Supervisor for conducting passenger handling and security duties as detailed below.
Responsibilities
• Conduct X-ray screening and 100% hand search of passenger & baggage to ensure prohibited items do not travel
• Perform security patrols of company facilities and leased areas
• Monitor passengers in the terminal areas and carry out breathalyser checks as required
• Provide timely flight updates to passengers and arrange catering as required
• Ensure the correct aircraft safety briefing is delivered
• Escort passengers to aircraft and ensure correct seating allocation
• Support customers with drug & alcohol (D&A) testing and detector-dog operations
• Perform inbound passenger and baggage searches
• Assist in the loading and unloading of aircraft as required
• Perform required daily, weekly, monthly checks of equipment, including fire alarm systems
• Report any events that are unsafe
• Report any near misses
• Any other reasonable duties as directed by Supervisor/Manager
• Work in compliance with the Ground Operations Manual and all applicable company policies and procedures
Applicants must have the following attributes / qualifications:
• Be professional and demonstrate a strong safety and security ethos
• Be a good communicator and team worker
• Previous experience in a customer or front-of-house role is desirable
• Previous experience in a related security role is desirable but not essential
Applicants must willing to work in all weather conditions.
