Description
Locums First is looking for Locum Healthcare Assistants in Colne. This opportunity offers sessional work across community clinics, GP surgeries and wider primary care services, giving you the flexibility to select shifts that align with your experience and weekly availability.
You will play an important role in supporting patient assessments, carrying out routine clinical procedures and helping maintain an efficient clinic environment. Each service provides structured guidance to ensure clear expectations and smooth day-to-day workflow for all clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Conducting basic patient observations including BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting routine treatment room procedures
• Carrying out ECGs and basic health checks
• Performing phlebotomy if trained
• Assisting with patient education and lifestyle advice
• Updating clinical notes accurately in service systems
• Providing general clinical support to nurses and GPs
Requirements
• Experience working as an HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings
• Phlebotomy skills beneficial
• Confident in carrying out standardised clinical tasks
• Strong communication and time-management abilities
• Comfortable adapting to new clinical environments
• Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
• Fully flexible sessions to suit your schedule
• Weekday, evening or weekend shifts available
• Consistent opportunities for both ad-hoc and regular bookings
