Description
OVERVIEW
A great opportunity for a motivated Finance Manager who can bring energy and commitment to this growing business and team. The role will primarily be to manage, update and control the cost accounting structures for TED, including BOMs, including timely and accurate reporting of trends and variances. To provide support in the production of management and financial accounts and to supply reliable management information to the business to support decision making.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger entries
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer balances
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Complete regular stock reconciliations
• Process expense claims and ensure compliance with company policies
• Assist with VAT, sales tax, or other statutory filings as required
• Manage account records for EPR packaging levy obligations
• Maintain organized accounting files and documentation
• Support internal and external audits by providing required information
• Perform ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience as a Assistant Accountant within a UK business (manufacturing experience preferred).
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and UK financial regulations.
• Experience using accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage 50, or QuickBooks). Xero experience would be a distinct advantage
• Use of apps linked to Xero tech stack (e.g. Dext)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Reliable, honest, and discreet with confidential information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Adaptable and able to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
• AAT Level 3 or above (or equivalent qualification)
• Study support to be considered for preferred candidates
